The term “cockroaches” was used as a dehumanizing label for the Tutsi ethnic group by Hutu extremists during the Rwandan genocide in 1994. The use of this language was meant to dehumanize the Tutsi and justify their mass killing.
With the amount of hate this character has been getting on the sub lately, I was happy with the mini redemption arc he was given near the end of the comic.
